XXVI International Folklore Festival ,,Atataria lamzdžiai-2011"

International Folklore Festival ,,Atataria lamzdžiai” is held in Kaunas from 1984. This is one of the most important traditional events in Kaunas, forming an attractive image of the city and promoting the traditional Lithuanian music. It is a cultural heritage project for the preservation and the dissemination of Lithuanian traditional music, fostering the traditional folk direction, but an innovative and open.
Participants of the festival are the best of Lithuanian folk songs, instrumental folk music performers and folk ensembles. International Folklore Festival ,,Atataria lamzdžiai” is decorated, varied by occasional concerts of guests from different countries.
The last festival was attended by about 600 participants on 40 teams, of which 5-7 teams from abroad, held in 13-15 events are visited by about 3,000 spectators.

CONDITIONS AND RULES
Common information
· The Festival takes place every year in May in Kaunas (the second town in Lithuania).
· XXVI International Folklore Festival „Atataria lamzdžiai-2011“ will be held in May 27th-29th.
· There participating about 5-7 foreign groups as well as Lithuanian groups.
· This ir an authentic folklore Festival for amateurs; stylised/professional groups are not accepted.
Festival goal
· Promote traditional, folk art, unprofessional (instrumental music, songs, dances), access, disclosure, and preserve heritage of various nations.
Requirements for the group
· A participating group should be maximum of 15 performers (incl. musicians, leaders, drivers, accompanying person).
· „Tourists“ (members who have nothing to do with the performances of the group) are not accepted. The Festival will not take care of them.
· Groups may arrive one day before their first performance and leave next day after the Festival.
Requirements for programs
· The group should perform only with „live music“. Recorded music is not accepted.
· The group can represent any type of their national folklore (songs, dances, traditional instrumental music).
· Group should be prepared to perform different lenght of program (from 5 min to 1 hour).
· Groups will be able to hold their concert, but also participate in a joint concert with the other groups.
· Performances will take place in concert halls, town squares and other open areas.
· There are several kinds of performances in the Festival: concerts, workshop, procession, dance evening.
· Not all performances will be in the places with electricity available on the stages (no amplifiers and microphones).
Festival fee
· 23 Euro per person for one day.
· 46 Euro per person for two days.
· 69 Euro per person for three days.
· The costs of transport to Lithuania and back home, visa (if needed) are at the expenses of the group. The Festival can supply only some transport expenses inside Lithuania.
The Festival fee includes
· Lodging for each members of the group in hotel near performing places (maximum 4 km) during the Festival.
· Feeding two times per day (breakfast and lunch) for each performer during the Festival.
Additional free services
· Each group will be accompanied by Festival hostess during the festival. The accompanying person will provide all necessary information about the Festival performances and etc.
· There will be organized the tour of the city of Kaunas for each group.
· There will be organized the buffet and the afternoon in the Kaunas National Culture Center.
· Participants request, the Festival organizers may facilitate the participation in other International Folklore Festival “Skamba skamba kankliai”, which is held in Vilnius (in the capital of Lithuania) in May 26th-29th.
Registration and other conditions
· The group, who decided to participate in the Festival, must send the entry form and a group’s photo (or several photos, minimum size 3000x2000 pixels or 1MB), video or audio recording of the group‘s program by e-mail or mail until March 15th.

· When the group will receive confirmation letter by e-mail from the Festival organizers, the group must transfer the festival fee to the organizers account over a period of two weeks, but no later than March 31st.
· Account No. LT314010042500030391.
· If the group decide to cancel participation after this date and not of the Festival organizers fault (example: visa wouldn’t be issued for the participants), fee wouldn’t be returned; if approved candidates do not pay Festival fee until the 31st of March 2011, participation of this group would be cancelled.
· Groups participate in the Festival at their own risk. Groups have to be insured against all risk of life: illness, hospitalization, accidents, etc. The festival will take no responsibility to any financial and/or other consequences regarding the above.
· Participants request, the Festival organizers may organize the tour along the river Nemunas coast and countryside. Cost per trip is not included in the Festival fee.
· By participating in the Festival a group accepts these conditions of the Festival.
